DVD MENU SPECIFICATIONS

STILL MENUS:

All NTSC still menus are to be provided as 720x480 tiffs.

All PAL still menus are to be provided as 720x576 tiffs.

 

Stills are to follow these naming configurations:

main_(anything else you need to add).TIF

ab_bio_01_(anything else you need to add).TIF

chap_01_06_(anything else you need to add).TIF

· This important identifying information must be included in the first 10 characters.

 

Please provide all stills together in one folder named (appropriately) stills.

 

SUBPICTURES/HIGHLIGHTS:

All NTSC subpictures are to be provided as 720x480 tiffs.

All PAL subpictures are to be provided as 720x576 tiffs.

 

Subpictures are to be made of no more than 4 distinct colors (with no shading or anti-aliasing).

 

Please use the following colors to identify your highlights:

Background = white (255,255,255)

Main pattern = black (0,0,0)

Emphasis 1 = red (255,0,0,)

Emphasis 2 = blue (0,0,255)

 

Please provide documentation identifying colors and opacity for each highlight definition.

 

Subpicture Stills are to follow these configurations:

If Motion Menus are provided as a Quicktime file (please contact us before supplying)

Render Settings:

· Field Render with Lower Field First

· 3:2 Pulldown of WWSSW

· Frame Rate of 29.97

· Provide as a Quicktime Movie with Black Magic 2Vuy 8 Bit Compressor

· 720x486

· Audio (if stereo) 48kHz 16 Bit

 

If Motion Menus are provided on Digital Beta:

Render Settings:

· Field Render with Lower Field First

· 3:2 Pulldown of WWSSW

· Frame Rate of 29.97

· 720x486

· Audio (if Stereo) 48kHz 16 Bit

 

Should be provided on Digital Betacam with audio on channels 1&2 (if stereo)

· If audio is 5.1 please provide on DA88 with corresponding timecodes.

Along with the tape, please provide a list of items on the tape with precise in and out timecodes.
